The 1890 home is the last visible evidence of the middle-class black community in Tallahassee at the turn of the 20th century. The museum depicts African American history from Reconstruction through the Civil Rights movement through exhibits, art and audiovisual presentations. It lies in downtown Tallahassee, a few blocks northwest of Cascades Park.
